We have just returned from another medical mission to Jamaica where we saw 200 patients in clinic, performed 22 surgeries and were joined by a team of 14 volunteers. We can’t believe it was Medicine in Action’s 20th mission! We did some work on expanding our surgical services and are now performing surgeries at St. Joseph’s hospital in conjunction with Victoria Jubilee hospital. We have also started teaching OB/GYN residents from Victoria Jubilee, a local public hospital and teaching institute. We will continue our teaching program at the University of the West Indies as our intention is to help develop the medical communities in the areas where we work.
